One of the things I love about being off from school is being able to go to classes at Eagles’ Haven that I can’t always get to.
November 29
The class my daughter & I went to in the morning was making mosaic picture frames.
This green one was one of the two I made. My daughter finished so quickly, she had made two before some people finished their first one.
After that, the next class was mixed media canvas art. It was so cool! The woman who led the class sketched out a large picture over 12 canvases. We each got one to paint, which would all fit together like puzzle pieces when we were finished.
Even though it would create one large picture, we had the creative freedom to paint ours however we saw fit.

This is the big picture, with all twelve pieces together. I really love that it’s a mandala with the Eagles’ Haven logo in the middle.
November 30
I picked up one of my daughter’s best friends to go back to Eagles’ Haven today. We went for two classes.
The first class was bracelet making. It was overwhelming seeing all of the beads, clasps, strings and cords available, but it was overwhelming in a good way. I felt like a kid in a candy shop.
These are a few of the things I made. I have a necklace with an orange heart, and ended up with a total of seven bracelets. Some of the bracelets have lava rocks, so I can add essential oils.
After lunch, we went back for a class to make essential oil sprays and scrubs. I made a lavender spray, an orange spray, a lavender-lemon sugar scrub, a lavender sugar scrub and a raspberry-peppermint lip scrub.
I know I’m probably their biggest hype-woman. Eagles’ Haven has done so much to make our broken community whole again. On #GivingTuesday, please consider giving to this wonderful organization that has given so selflessly to us. https://www.eagleshaven.org/donate/
