I went for a haircut today. I booked the appointment weeks ago, but spent the whole time in New York City exclaiming how excited I was to cut it all off. I love my hair, but sometimes it needs to go. It’s very thick, curly & heavy… not ideal for life in Florida, seven steps from the sun.
My hair stylist, Austin, had to divide my hair into four ponytails to cut it. We measured, and saw that we had eight inches, which is the minimum donation. I tweeted Pantene about how excited I was to donate… until they tweeted back and said that they no longer accept outside donations.
I donated my hair for the first time (and only other time) in March 2014. I cut off 12 inches, and sent it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. I was really hoping to send it to them again. So… now I have to find another organization to send my hair. I’m looking into places that will take hair to make wigs for childhood cancer patients.
