I taught sessions at the South Florida Walsworth Yearbook Workshop over the past two days. Five sessions each day. My feet hurt. I’m exhausted. I’m tired of hearing the sound of my own voice.
I taught about sports writing, social media, marketing, interviewing and the story of how we finished the yearbook after 2/14. They were all very well-attended, and well-received. I really love talking to yearbook people, and sharing my love for journalism.
While at the workshop, I was presented with the Walsworth Gallery of Excellence Award for the 2018 yearbook. This is the highest honor the publisher gives. The books are chosen based on superior examples of theme, coverage, design, photography and copy. We’ve won this award every year, but this year makes it so much more special.
